The expansion of the Salus headquarters is the result of the union of two buildings and the installation of thermal break windows on large surfaces. The building is designed with attention to energy performance. It includes a centralized air conditioning and ventilation supervision system and it’s supported by a photovoltaic system.
However, the architectural fulcrum of the project consists of the special sunbreakers that wrap two sides of the building. By the idea of the architect, Nicolli designed square and tapered elements with horizontal development made with painted aluminum sheets. The fixing brackets have been specially designed for this work.
These sunblades perform two functions. The first is the contribute to the control of the building's environmental conditions, by preventing overheating in the warmer months. The second consist in its aesthetical personality that making it an urban reference point.
